As an actor and theatemaker I have engaged with a wide-range of audiences and communities with the intention to increase the accessibility of theatre and the arts.   I have brought theatre to regional areas, young people and I regularly work with Rollerocatser Theatre Company, an ensemble of trained actors with disabilities from a wide range of backgrounds.

Virtual Schools Victoria and mtc

August- september 2020

In collaboration with Melbourne Theatre Company and Virtual Schools Victoria I facilitated a number of online script writing sessions with students of varying ability. Over the sessions we covered the basics of script writing and storytelling in a theatrical medium, with a focus on character creation, dialogue and world building. I facilitated a number of practical and collaborative writing exercises that was student centred and student led.

The experiments - elbow room theatre
Regional arts Victoria tour- Arts and education program

may-june 2018

The Experiments' are two 50-minute works for two actors, designed to tour for high school students making accessible some of the greatest theatre works of the 20th Century. 'An Experiment with the Caucasian Chalk Circle' , explains and makes accessible Bertolt Brecht's 30-person, three-hour epic about what ownership and responsibility - whether for children, or for country - should really mean to us. 'An Experiment with Waiting for Godot' does the same for Beckett's masterpiece, which influenced everything from David Bowie to Seinfeld.

The workshops and post show Q & As were an excellent opportunity to have a discourse on those themes and issue explored in the production.

Three Birds- Three birds theatre
Regional arts Victoria tour- Arts and education program

february 2017

In 2017 I toured Three Birds, my co-devised show produced by Three Birds Theatre with Regional Arts Victoria to regional Victorian Schools.

The performance was aimed at both 7-11 and VCE students.  The performance aimed to give students a deeper understanding of non-naturalistic theatre style as well as exlploring ethics, female friendship and critical and creative thinking. The post show Q & As were an excellent opportunity to have a discourse on those themes and issue explored in the production.

Gymkhana at The Lost Lands Festival, Melbourne

NOVEMBER 2016

This three day festival invited families to camp at the Werribee Mansion and experience live music and performance together.

Myself and two others ran hour long Gymkana’s multiple times a day, each day of the festival. This involved live performance and running various games and exercises to entertain large groups of children.
